Connie dutifully served as a military (Army) wife from 2005 through her husband's military retirement in 2015. She single-handedly managed a busy household, including the children and her husband's parents during two war zone deployments when her husband served in Iraq in 2006 and Afghanistan in 2011. Her dedication as a supportive military spouse was unmatched. She was involved with her husband's military units in supporting other soldiers and families such as through the Family Readiness Groups.
