MGYSGT Charles A. Rix, United States Marine Corps, (Ret.), 79, West Palm Beach, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012 following a brief illness. MGYSGT Rix was born February 21, 1933 in New York, New York to the late Albert Edward & Estelle Mary (Buden) Rix and moving to the West Palm Beach area in 2003 from Falls Church, Virginia following his retirement as Athletic Director after 18 years of service with the Marine Corps. MGYSGT Rix served in the Korea and Vietnam Wars and retired from the United States Marine Corps after 33 years of service. MGYSGT Rix was loving husband of 28 years to Mary,, loving father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Funeral Services for MGYSGT Rix will be held 12:45 pm Thursday, May 10, 2012 in the Chapel of Palm Beach National Chapel. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday 11:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow at South Florida National Cemetery with full military honors.
