Obituary

Carl S. Kidd, Jr., 68, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. A beloved husband, son, and friend, he leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Ilene Kidd, mother Wanda Kidd, father-in-law George Debate, sister-in-law Janine DeBate, and many dear friends and cousins. He will be truly missed by all.

Carl was born in Louisville, Kentucky on October 24, 1948, then moved to Florida in 1958. After graduating from Forest Hill High School in West Palm Beach in 1967, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy as an Ocean Systems Technician, serving the majority of his service time on Ford Island in Pearl Harbor. Then, after graduating from Florida Atlantic University, he became a middle school PE teacher in Palm Beach County, where he taught for over 30 years. He loved to fish, dance, and dabble in gardening, but his favorite hobby was riding his recumbent bicycle with his biking buddies, who affectionately called him "The Hammer." He had a calm and quiet way about him, always willing and able to help out where help was needed, happy to be of assistance.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Palm Beach National Chapel on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 4:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trustbridge Hospice, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
