Obituary

Byron Lee "Bud" Wakefield, 94, of Jupiter died Monday, March 4, at home after an extended illness. A resident of Jupiter since 1967, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1947-67, retiring as a Chief Electronics Technician. After retirement, he worked for a number of companies before opening Jupiter Hitch in 1977.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy Willrick Wakefield; son Michael Wakefield (Charlyn) of Okeechobee; daughter Cheryl Puletti (Paul) of Babcock Ranch; and son Stephen Wakefield (Robin) of Buckhead Ridge. He was predeceased by a son, David.

Bud also leaves behind grandchildren Heather Hammen (Jesse) of Oveido; Brett Wakefield (Jenn) of Stuart; Sara Childers of LaBelle; Jacob Wakefield (Tara) of Hobe Sound; Sandi Taylor, of LaBelle; and Jessica Montgomery (Dustin) of Jupiter.

Also surviving are seven great grandchildren: Destiny, Logan, Jayden, Nick, Bella, Olivia, and Walker.
