Obituary

Arthur J. Picotte, 90

February 9, 1936 - August 18, 2026

Arthur J. Picotte, 90, of West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026. He was born on February 9, 1936, in Syracuse, New York.

A proud graduate of Cato Meridian High School, Arthur enlisted in the United States Navy and served honorably for 22 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer.

After retiring from the military, Arthur moved to Florida with his family, where he began a second career as a Biomedical Electronics Technician.

Arthur was married to his beloved wife, Rosemary P. Picotte, for 67 years. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who would do anything for his family.

He was a man of faith, loved the outdoors, especially fishing, camping, and enjoyed a little woodworking. He was a true dog lover and deeply missed his chocolate labs, Hunter and Buddy, when they passed.

He will be remembered most for his big heart and his ability to make anyone laugh, especially when he did “the gooky” — a family classic that never failed to bring the house down.

In addition to his wife Rosemary, he is survived by his son, Arthur Picotte Jr., his daughter-in-law, Gail Picotte, his daughter, Rhonda Ducharme, and his son-in-law Donald Ducharme: grandchildren, Christopher Picotte, Lauren Kantz, Chelsye Picotte, Robert Behne, and Chase Picotte; great-grandchildren, Piper, Ezra, Emma, Quinn, and Ellie; and his siblings, Harvey Picotte, Barbara Sedorus, Donald Picotte, Sharon Murphy, and Charles Picotte.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Marion Picotte, and two of his sisters, Betty Morsdorf and Alice Picotte.

Services will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at the Palm Beach National Funeral Home and Chapel in Lake Worth.

He served his country, loved his family, and always kept us laughing. He will be dearly missed but will remain in our hearts forever until we are together again.
