Obituary

Arnold Eschwege of Boca Raton passed away at Willowbrooke Court nursing facility on March 20, 2026, at the age of 100. Arnold is survived by daughters Ellen Eschwege of Collins, NY and Basha Nachison of Lakewood, NJ, 13 grandchildren, 57 great and 5 great-great grandchildren and loving partner Elaine Ruben. His family was the center of his life.

Arnold was born in Mineola, NY to Ruth and Jerome Eschwege. Everyone who met Arnold fell in love with him, he was a special man. He attended Pratt Institute for commercial art. Advertising was his lifelong profession. He married Rhoda (nee Nelson) on October 22, 1949 (his wife of 64 years who passed away in October 2013), Barbara (now Basha) and Linda (who passed away in May 2012) were born in 1952 and 1955 respectively, while living in Brooklyn. They moved to Buffalo, NY in 1959 and Ellen was born there in 1963. Arnold and Rhoda lived in Buffalo until they moved to Delray Beach in 2002. Arnold then lived with Elaine in Boca Raton from 2018 to 2023. He spent his final years at Willowbrooke. Arnold loved his family more than anything in the world and he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He had a lifelong interest in fitness and nutrition, which no doubt contributed to his longevity and vitality. In his later years, he especially loved to swim and bask in the sun. He also enjoyed bowling and was in a bowling league into his late eighties. Arnold was also a fine artist with a wide range of artistic expression. He participated in local art shows with Rhoda.

He will be missed greatly.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in honor of Arnold to: Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33407
