IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anthony George
Rossetti
December 11, 1941 – July 26, 2019
Anthony "Tony" "Babe" Rossetti, age 78, passed away suddenly on July 26th at Boca Regional Hospital.
Mr. Rossetti is survived by his wife, Gloria, and daughter, Luann (Daniel) Scarpellino. He also had stepchildren, Patricia Triana, Sonia (Andres) Parissos-Sanchez, and Francisco Triana. He was the proud grandfather of four grandchildren, Angelica (Bryan) Demers, Francesca Pisano, Christina Scarpellino, and Matteo Miranda. He also leaves two great-grandchildren, Dominic and Isabella Demers. Tony was the son of the late Louise (Gambardella) and Alphonse Rossetti and leaves his brother, Andrew Butch Rossetti.
He loved his family, although he lived 1,400 miles away he was as much a part of our day to day lives. To say he called a half dozen of us 3-7 times a day would not be an exaggeration. Through FaceTime he got to watch his great grandchildren grow daily and never missed a trick.
Tony was a giant in life, he was strong in so many ways but as he recently became ill, he became a man fearful of his fate. He lived for his family in many ways. He adored his daughter and his grandkids were his life. Tony was 78. He leaves his wife Gloria of 23 years. Gloria adored him, they worked together for years in her business where Babe helped with costumers in the Sseamstress shop they owned in Boynton Beach. If one could imagine Tony, once a business manager for the teamsters and business agent for UPS, ironing finished hems on clothing his wife meticulously work on. He would greet customers and even measure and fit their clothes for Gloria to work on. He took care of the business end leaving Gloria to do her magic with the many garments she worked on. He was well liked by so many people. Not only in the business called Cigia but to the nearby other store owners and his own neighbors where they lived.
The years Tony spent in the military was something he was very proud of and talked about often. I think he always felt the Marines, Tony always said the marines shaped him to be the man he became. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Marines never left him, as friends and family will attest. Tony was a very worldly man. He traveled extensively as part of his years with the teamsters, he attended conventions all over the country. He was so proud of those years and spoke often about them. He was his daughters hero for sure. We will miss him more than we realize especially Angelica who was the apple of his eye.
