Alfred Martin Jr., 57, of Boca Raton, FL went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 8th, 2014 after a courageous medical battle surrounded by family and friends at the VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach, FL. Born on September 7th, 1956 in Wareham, MA, Al attended the Upper Cape Cod Vocational School in Bourne, MA before entering the US Army 82nd Airborne division in 1973.
After moving to Florida in 1980 he was a small business owner and worked as a general contractor and public insurance adjuster. He married his soul mate Melody on July 1st, 1989 and just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary together. He enjoyed boating, fishing, cruising and was an avid Miami Dolphins fan.
He will be dearly missed for his loving and kind personality. Left to celebrate his memory are his wife Melody; daughters, Rochelle, Katelyn, and Miranda; and grandson Jayden. He is also survived by his mother Myrtle; and his sisters Judy, Irene, Sarah (Jack), Mary, and Debbie of Cape Cod, MA. He was preceded in death by his father Alfred of New Bedford, MA.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-3:00pm on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Palm Beach National Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farms Road, Lake Worth, FL 33449. A memorial service with Military Honors will follow at 3:00pm.
A Celebration of Life gathering will follow at the Martin home. Interment will be held at a later date at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL.
