Alexander Macropoulos

December 12, 1936 – June 26, 2022

Alex, as he was known to family and friends, was blessed with a huge heart and infectious smile. Always willing to help, he would remain warm and optimistic with a passion for life and those around him. His pleasant sense of humor always made those around him feel comfortable and at ease, even in the face of the most trying of circumstances. It was just his way and he made it look easy.

Born in Piraeus, Greece to John and Katerina Macropoulos Alex was the first of nine children. As a big brother, he understood his responsibilities and was always there for his siblings.

Alex was also a very brave man. This bravery along with being hugely optimistic he knew there was more out there, and he strived to succeed. At 19 he joined the Greek Merchant Marines and traveled the world for the next three years. After fulfilling his responsibilities, he knew that it was time to keep moving forward. He migrated to the United States and joined the U.S. Army. While serving he stayed steadfast to his family always sending them a portion of his earnings to make sure they were all safe and well. When the time was right Alex brought his family to America knowing this would be best.

Next for Alex it was time to settle down. While living in an apartment in Queens, NY he met and fell in love with and married the girl next door Ana. For 57 years they were always by each other's side and their love grew more and more each day. He was always there for his Queen.

Alex was also a loving dedicated father. His beautiful daughters Catherine and Joanne were gifts from the heavens above. Making sure they would be safe and cared for he worked tirelessly to make sure they had the things they needed. Stern and responsible Alex still knew how to make his princesses smile and know the full love a father could give.

Alex enjoyed boating and fishing. He also made sure family and friends stayed close and wouldn't hesitate to have those he cared for over for back yard barbecues and family get togethers. This made him most happy.

Alex is survived by his loving wife Ana, daughters Catherine Macropoulos and Joanne and son in law Nikolaos Psareas , and grandsons Yanni, Alexander and Christ o s Psareas , and siblings Atha na sios Macropoulos , Evangelia Bortolis , Paul Macropoulos , and Nick Ma k ropoulos .

Our loss is heavens gain and we are all better people because we knew Alex.

Alex, como era conocido por su familia y amigos, fue bendecido con un corazón enorme y una sonrisa infecciosa . Nacido en Pire aus , Grecia, hijo de John y Katerina Macropoulos, Alex fue el primero de nueve hijos . Como hermano mayor, entendía sus responsabilidades y siempre estaba ahí para sus hermanos .

Alex también era un hombre muy valiente . Esta valentía , junto con ser enormemente optimista , sabía que había más por ahí , y se esforzó por tener éxito . A los 19 años se unió a la marina mercante griega y viajó por el mundo durante los tres años siguientes . Después de cumplir con sus responsabilidades , sabía que era hora de seguir avanzando . Emigró a los Estados Unidos y se unió al Ejército de los Estados Unidos. Mientras servía él se mantuvo firme a su familia siempre enviándoles una porción de sus ganancias para asegurarse de que todos estaban seguros y bien. Cuando el tiempo era correcto Alex trajo a su familia a América sabiendo que esto sería mejor .

Después para Alex era el momento de establecerse . Mientras vivía en un apartamento en Queens, NY, conoció y se enamoró de la chica de al lado , Ana, y se casó con ella . Durante 57 años estuvieron siempre j u ntos y su amor creció cada vez más cada día. Él siempre estaba allí para su Amor .

Alex también era un padre dedicado y amoroso. Sus hermosas hijas Catherine y Joanne eran regalos de los cielos de arriba . Asegurándose de que estarían seguros y cuidados , trabajó incansablemente para asegurarse de que tenían las cosas que necesitaban . S evero y responsable Alex todavía sabía cómo hacer sonreír a sus princesas y conocer el amor total que un padre podía dar .

Alex disfrutó de paseos en bote y pesca . También se aseguró de que la familia y los amigos permanecieran cerca y no dudaría en tener a aquellos a los que cuidaba para asados en el patio y reuniones familiares . Esto lo hizo muy feliz .

Alex le sobreviven su amorosa esposa Ana, sus hijas Catherin a Macropoulos y Joanne y su yerno Nikolaos Psareas , y sus nietos Yanni, Alexander y Christos Psareas , y sus hermanos Atanasio Macropoulos, Evangelia Bortolis , Paul Macropoulos y Nick Makropoulos .

Nuestra pérdida es la ganancia del cielo y todos somos mejores personas porque conocíamos a Alex.
